Hi-D-Ho Drive In in Alamogordo

We had our 1st visit here and it was awesome. Our server JESSICA was very prepared and diligent and new how to compose a big order that we placed our food was ready rite wen we showed up. Myself being a server over many years can say this young lady is going to move up fast in life. U get that money girl and keep ur pleasant and awesome work ethic up. We will definitely be back thank you

Overpriced. Food is okay, these reviews are over rated. I thought I was going to get this amazing burger. It’s not like that.. Go to Chili’s cheaper and quality is way better for a awesome burger

The food hyped up and was disappointed once we want. Had better bugers from a gas station. Bugers joint had no ketchup packets when asked. don't offer none for the unsalted under cook fries. Have no Idea how they stay so busy putting out trash. Only in Alamo. Maybe the Mexican food the offer better . Thanks hi d not.

We had a terrible experience waiting over an hour for our food we ordered that was messed up by their car-hop, and was over-charged for a more expensive item that was ordered. The carhop never brought our order to our car, we had to go hunt it down inside office and got soggy burgers, no ketchup, no napkins. Never again!

Definitely the best burger in town for that special lunch or dinner with the family.

I used to come here in the late 80's while stationed at Holloman. I just had the chance to return after 30yrs and was happy to find the place as good as I remembered. The fact it remains open over three (almost four) decades speaks to the quality of the for and service. Though the Tiger Burger no longer comes in three versions (used to be single, double or triple patties), the double patty version (with green chillies, of course), was superb. While I wouldn't recommend it if you're on a strict diet, it was great...brought back find memories...and was worth the extra workouts required for those extra calories! Hope to be back in Alamogordo in a few months on business and will have another!

Our server did not wear a mask while bringing our food and enforcing masks, but other than that, the food was pretty good.

Food took a while but was good. Got Tiger burger combo. Filling & tasty although bun was stale & tots were a little old/cold. Definitely eat here again though. Skip the plethora of chains in the area & give this place a try

This place was excellent! We went based on the reviews and it did not disappoint. It take take some time to get our food but it was worth it. The food was hot and fresh so waiting was not a problem. The staff was friendly and helpful. They apologized for the long wait right away. Will definitely go back next time we are in town.

Nice stop after sledding the White Sands National Monument. Be sure to flag down a car hop they were quite busy when we were there. Sweet tea was great and they have something like a blizzard they called a "Razzle" that the kids loved.

Worst service ever we waited a long time for them to even take our order even more for them to bring out our food. When we did get our food the order was wrong and the waitress was so rude.

Yes, yes, YES!!!! Their tiger burger was on point! Just added jalapeños. I will most certainly be coming back here. We just moved to the area, and I've needed to get my burger fix. This place is THE place to go for that😁 their fries are also UNsalted which is another huge plus😎

I ordered over the phone was told food would be ready in 20 minutes got there to in 25 minutes and waited another 10 minutes before the server even can over to see what we wanted. I told here I called in my order and gave her my name she was gone 10 minutes came back and said there was no order and wanted to take our order. It was almost an hour. I left because that was ridiculous with that kind of service.

Awesome place for delicious burgers and hot dogs! With several distinctive food items. I'd recommend their trademark tiger burger. A large double cheeseburger with all the typical toppings. But its prepared excellent with great flavor. I'd also recommend their green chili burger, and their shakes and malts. Which are offered in a variety of flavors. Their strawberry lemonade is good too.Its primarily a drive through restaurant. The inside of the restaurant is very small. With only two tables. There are more tables outside. But sometimes the weather just isn't good. The staff are friendly and attentive. Note that sometimes it takes a little long for them to prepare the food. But the food is really good. If in Alamogordo, give it a try.

Had my first Tiger burger & fries with a cherry coke. Absolutely delicious! Would definitely come here again. The cheese was melted so perfectly. Awe. I was in heaven. 😊😊😊😊👍👍👍

Excellent burgers. We had the buger basket and Luigi burger. Loved the taste reminded of a good fresh made buger from the 70s. The grilled onions were perfect so few know how to grill onions for a burger like Hi-D-Ho in Alamogordo. We did not mind the wait. Worth every minute for the food that you get.You are awesome Hi-D-Ho. Keep up the great work.

Heard from locals that Hi-D-Ho has the best green chili cheeseburgers in Alamogordo, NM. Had been eating at Blake's Lotta Burger but no more. Last food there was charcoaled. Now my wife and I will purchase green chili cheeseburgers here at Hi-D-Ho Drive In. French fries are also great. Great food.

We called in $60 worth of food. We waited for 25 minutes after we arrived at the business before we were helped. We received the food, returned to the house and the order was wrong. We were going to just eat the food, but the burgers were soggy and everything was cold. We called the establishment and they were rude over the phone about the order. We were told to bring the food back and they would correct the order. We took the food back for a refund. The whole experience took 2 hours. 2 hours for 5 cheese burgers?

Best burgers in town. Local favorite is the tiger burger, but I prefer the Luigi burger. Patties are massive but very tasty.

Locals say they have the best burger in town and they weren't exaggerating. The Tiger burger was amazing and hefty! Two patties, cheese, and all the right mixture of condiments. The decor was homey, pictures lined their counters. Delicious!

Food is great but the service is terrible. I called in an order 40 minutes ahead of time and when I arrived, I still had to wait an additional 20 minutes. If I hadn't called in my order, I would've been waiting over an hour. My order wasn't even that big, it was 3 burgers and a kids meal. Not only did I spend extra time, they also overcharged me, handed me the wrong order and after I had to go back to get the correct order, they had the audacity to ask for the kids meal back which was the incorrect one they handed me to begin with. Uhh, how about NO, go eff yourself! Then, after I unwrapped the burgers, they were all doubles when I specifically asked for singles!! No wonder they charged me so much. It was like $12 per burger, no joke. I'll never go there again.

This is one of the best burgers I have had in a long time. The green chili, which is earthy and a little spicy, makes the seasoned meat with its hard crust from the griddle shine. With pickles and onions this burger hits every category of taste bud. The fries could use some work though.

Please be aware that this establishment will not honor their website pricing. We are here to support their business and not run them out of business. But if they don't correct their online prices to match their in house prices, that might just happen. A business owner needs to be honest and professional not trying to cheat his guests. From a Covid19 perspective, this is the best place I've been to in town. No one is allowed into the enclosed restaurant area. There are tables and chairs in an open area. It is a drive in, so you pull up into the space, and a server wearing a mask comes to the car for service. I felt safe. About the food, the burger was a blast from the past. I loved it. The meat patty was locally made (not the industrial type you get at franchises) and the produce fresh. For burger/fries/drink, I think this will be my place to go. I can't wait to try other items in their very diverse menu. This was a refreshing change from the typical franchise experience.

Waited almost an hour for 2 combos. 1 was supposed to have just ketchup and no mustard but both had mustard and ketchup. Bun was toasted too long. This place used to be really good

Don't go here unless you have time to spareWe ordered one basket of chicken strips and then waited 40 minutes (5:50 to 6:30) and still didn't get our food. If it's taking over a half an hour to get orders out at what is ostensibly supposed to be a drive-in resteraunt, perhaps you need to hire more staff during peak hours

The wait for the food was a little long but entirely worth it. We went on a Saturday night so it was quite busy. My wife and I got the burrito and loved it. My father in law (who is a very picky eater) got the famous tiger burger and thought it was the best he ever had. The flavor of the meat was exquisite. Will absolutely be going back.

The Tiger Burger is awesome but is huge and could be a meal for two. They dont have indoor seating but it is a covered area.

You'd think all hot dogs and corn dogs are the same, but you're wrong. They are so much better at Hi-D-Ho. Stopped by for a quick snack after having a big lunch and not wanting dinner. My husband's hot dog was grilled with some tasty char on it. Great bun. I had a corn dog and it was so hot and fresh. Whatever batter they use is perfect. Lots of flavor! We split a side of tater tots which were also delicious. Just a great stop!

Woah! Well worth the wait!! I ordered the tiger (add green chile is a must). The burger was still sizzling hot off the grill and the fries just as hot (slightly under seasoned for my taste). Our carhop was fast and friendly, also apologized for the wait (based on the reviews we expected a wait) but remember "good things take time"! The chocolate malt was delicious and I fought to get a second sip from my fiance, order your own malt! So glad we stopped here on our way through town. We will be calling in our order next time as the locals do.

This place has great food and atmosphere. Probably the best in the little town of Alamogordo in which is the city it resides. I love the car hop service, option of eating in your vehicle or outside at a picnic table. The only thing that keeps this place from getting a 5 Star review is simply the French fries. They are always fresh however, just no flavor to them at all! Make sure you try the Hi D Ho botherwhile on Alamogordo
